The First Day of Spring

Here are some springtime quotes courtesy of Jim Erskine of Homeschool Radio Shows. (Which by the way, if you’ve never visited, please check it out, he sends out a free radio show via email every week.  My kids love them!)   Feel free to feast upon these quotes and choose with me to ignore the fact that the forecast is calling for 6″ of snow tonight…

“If spring came but once a century instead of once a year,
or burst forth with the sound of an earthquake and not in silence,
what wonder and expectation there would be in all hearts
to behold the miraculous change. ” — Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
“I stuck my head out the window this morning and spring kissed me
bang in the face. ” — Langston Hughes
“Spring shows what God can do with a drab and dirty world.”
— Virgil A. Kraft
“Spring is a heart full of hope and a shoe full of rain.” — Unknown

“If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant;
if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.”
— Anne Bradstreet
“A little Madness in the spring Is wholesome even for the King.”
— Emily Dickinson
“In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.”
— Margaret Atwood
